TSN సంక్రాంతి 2025 Cultural Programs Rules and Guidelines

TSN is excited to announce సంక్రాంతి సంబరాలు on January 11th, 2025! 

This festive occasion will be a wonderful opportunity for our Telugu community to come together, celebrate our rich cultural heritage, enjoy our traditions, and support our kids in expressing their creativity and share the spirit of Sankranthi.

General Guidelines For Event:

1. Kids can participate in the Sankranthi Cultural Event if the family holds an active TSN membership (either annual or lifetime) or a student of TSN Telugu Badi.2.
2. Kindly note that, starting this year, the TSN membership fee will be $35.

Key Dates to be noted: 

  1. Sankranthi Sambaralu – January 11th 2025
  2. Final Rehearsal – January 10th 2025
  3. Guidelines and Details – November 21st 2024
  4. Cultural Registration open – November 29th 2024
  5. Cultural Registration ends – December 20th 2024
  6. Last Day for Audio Submission – December 31st 2024
  7. Games & Activities – January 4th & 5th 2025
  8. Program Review before rehearsal – (contact cultural secretary)

Cultural Program Guidelines: 

  1. Programs related to Telugu Culture, Heritage and Traditions that resonate with the spirit of Sankranthi are encouraged.
  1. Program confirmation is based on priority, not on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be given to the following categories.
  1. Dance (Classical, Semi Classical and Folk), Singing (Folk and Classical), musical instruments are encouraged and Skits that showcase our traditions or highlighting the rich history are encouraged.
  1. Song repetitions are strictly not encouraged for any dance entry.
  1. All programs should adhere to the allotted time.
  1. Performance will be reviewed by cultural team before rehearsal (For details please contact Cultural

Secretary)

  1. TSN reserves the right to cancel the registered program if requirements are not met.

Program Entry Guidelines: 

  1. We are working to improve previous formats, kindly request you to avoid any misunderstandings of unclear rules. TSN Cultural will be happy to assist you in ensuring the event runs smoothly.
  1. The minimum number of participants for any dance entry is 4. Participants must be at least 6 years or older by January 10, 2025.
  1. Programs need to be registered with all the details specified in the registration form.
  1. Participants can register for one entry each in both Classical and Non-Classical categories.
  1. A Dance Entry may include maximum of 3 songs(Telugu Songs).
  1. The selection priority of a program is solely based on the songs chosen and the performance review conducted before rehearsals

Choreographer Guidelines:

  1. All choreographers must be members of TSN to register an entree.
  1. Choreographers and Coordinators are responsible to ensure that all participants are holding active TSN membership Id or Students of Telugubadi. (Membership Link given here:  http://telugusamiti.org/membership)
  1. Coordinators / Choreographers may submit a maximum of two programs. Please avoid registering multiple entries with different names under the same choreographer. 

Games & Activities:  (No Prior registration required) 

Each individual participant must pay an entry fee of $5 to join any games and activities, or a family can pay a fee of $10, allowing them to participate in all activities on January 4th and 5th (no membership required). TSN reserves the right to cancel any game if there are not enough registrations.

 Sankranthi Drawing or Rangoli (Kids Only) – competition will be held on January 4th 2025 at Temple social hall from 09:30 to 10:30AM. Drawing should resemble the Sankranthi Festival and Traditions. Hand drawn pictures are only allowed. Stationary will be provided at venue.

  1. Telugu Quiz (Adults & Kids) – competition will be held on January 4th 2025 at Temple social hall from 10:30 to 11:00 (for Kids) 11:00am to 11:30am (for adults). Groups will be allotted at Venue. 
  1. Telugu Elocution or Story Telling (for Kids) – competition will be held on January 4th 2025 at Temple social hall from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Topics on own choice. Time given for each participant is 5 min. 
  1. Sankranthi Pindi Vantalu (Women) – competition will be held on January 4th 2025 at Temple social hall from 11:00am to 01:00 PM. (Please bring food for 8 – 10 servings)
  1. Caroms – competition will be held on January 5th 2025 at Temple social hall from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Teams will be decided at Venue.

Your enthusiasm, creativity, and support will not only bring joy to the event but also strengthen our bonds as a community.
