What volunteering opportunities are available?
We have variety of volunteer opportunities based on your talents and time at hand. You can chose from following opportunities.
Volunteer by serving as a Sub-Committee member
Duration: Entire term
If you want to stay involved and stay in the center of activity, join one of the several sub-committees based on your talent or interest. We have several sub-committees : Food (food prep and cooking), Cultural, Décor, Event day help, Serving food, Sports, IT etc. For a list of sub-committees, look at current year sub-committee list under About section of this site.
Once you are accepted into the subcommittee, you will serve the whole year.
Volunteer by serving as Telugu Badi Teacher or Sub
Duration: Entire school year or as need be in case of sub
If you love the Telugu language and want to ensure the next generation learns it, we would love to have you as Telugu Badi teacher or substitute teacher. Never taught a class and weary? No worries..because the senior teachers will guide you. And it will be a good opportunity for you to hone your Telugu and interpersonal skills.
Telugu Badi is a year long activity run by TSN. We run 3 levels of classes. Telugu Badi follows a School year calendar Aug-May of next year.
Volunteering for an event
Duration: Before event and on day of event
If you do not have time for being on a sub-committee for an entire term, but have an interest, this is your avenue for doing it just for an event. Volunteering before and on day of event is driven by the needs of the various sub-committees. Number of volunteers needed and time depends on scale of the event.
